Fully tailor-made:

design your own winter experience!

Spend your winter holiday in Norway and slow down into the quiet rhythm of the season. This winter experience combines calm nature, crisp mountain air, and memorable adventures, with plenty of space to simply relax. Between the highlights, enjoy cosy evenings by the fire, read a book, play board games, and fully reset in the peaceful mountain surroundings.

Travel with your partner, family or friends, and tailor the experience to what you love most.

Below you’ll find an example of what a day-to-day itinerary could look like.

Day 1 - Arrival & Drive to Heidal

You’ll arrive at Oslo Gardermoen Airport and pick up your rental car. A 3.5-hour scenic drive brings you to Rognstad Mountain Stay in Heidal.  Settle in, get comfortable, and enjoy a homemade dinner served by your hosts.

Optional: On your way to Heidal, take a break in Lillehammer, stroll the charming streets, and sip coffee in one of Lillehammer's beloved cafes

Day 2 - Active start of your holiday

Start your week with a true winter activity and go skiing or snowboarding at Lemonsjø Alpine Centre. The area has three prepared ski slopes, small and large jumps, and some off-piste options. Is it your first time on the slopes? We can also arrange ski lessons for you.

Day 3 - Hiking or skiing in Jotunheimen National Park

Wake up to mountain silence and get ready for an unforgettable day in Jotunheimen National Park, the legendary “Home of the Giants.”

Put on your snowshoes for a guided hike or glide through the landscape on cross-country skis.  Explore calm forests and open mountain views at a comfortable pace.

In the evening, gather for a special outdoor cooking experience. Warm yourself by the fire as you help prepare and savor a Nordic-inspired dinner under the stars.

Day 4 - Husky adventure

Experience the quiet of the winter landscape as a team of eager huskies pulls you through snowy valleys. With the option to drive your own sled, you get a hands-on introduction to this traditional way of travelling. No prior experience is needed; instructions are given before departure

Day 5 - Let nature set your pace

This day is up to you: Wander the winter forests and watch out for wildlife in the wide landscape, read a book by the fireplace, or try out some more snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or downhill skiing.

In the evening, sink into a steaming, wood-fired hot tub while the world around you lies quiet and still. With views of the surrounding mountains, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed.

Day 6 - Horseback trail ride

Explore the landscape from the saddle and enjoy a peaceful ride through forests and open terrain. Horseback riding is a calm and memorable way to experience the area, suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

Day 7 - Heading Home

It’s time to slowly transition back to the real world. Check out at Rognsta and make your way to Oslo Gardermoen Airport. As you return the keys of your rental car and prepare to travel home, take one last breath of the crisp Nordic air.
